Murom is a city in Russia, the administrative center of the Muromsky district of the Vladimir Region; it is not part of the district, since 2006 it has formed the Murom urban district.
The population of the city is 106,984 people (2020) Murom is the third most populous city in the Vladimir region after Vladimir and Kovrov.
A major railway junction of the Gorky Railway on the Moscow — Kazan line.
The city is located on the left bank of the Oka River, 137 km from Vladimir, on the border with the Nizhny Novgorod region.
